Nicole CooleyLiteracy ELA 6-English 2

Nicole is a former middle and high school English teacher, lead teacher, and curriculum team leader. Currently, she is an ELA Team Lead and Senior Reading and Writing Instructional Coach with Bailey Education Group, focusing on training, co-teaching, and modeling effective implementation of the Mississippi College and Career Readiness Standards and the Mississippi Educator Professional Growth Domains and Standards. As a coach, she develops and executes through modeling and coaching Tier 1 research-based and data-driven strategies to ensure students grow and achieve on the Mississippi Academic Assessment Program (MAAP) for grades 3-10. She has a B.S. in Secondary Education from Mississippi State University and an M.Ed. from William Carey University. Mrs. Cooley has also developed courses and modules for The Master Teacher. She coaches in districts spanning Mississippi.

Marauo Davis – Math 6-Algebra

Marauo received a B.S. from The University of Southern Mississippi (December, 2009) in chemistry and mathematics. Afterwards, Marauo completed a Ph.D. at Texas Tech (May, 2013) while serving as a high school, co-teacher for calculus and physics, as a GK-12 Fellow, at Monterey High School in Lubbock, TX. Upon completing the Ph.D., Marauo worked as patent analyst in the Texas Tech Office and Technology and Commercialization before returning to Mississippi and accepting a position as a high math teacher and academic coach. To further his knowledge of education and teaching, Marauo completed a master’s program at William Carey University (January, 2016). Marauo was a full-time employee in the Wayne County School District while serving part-time as an Independent Consultant at study.com. Marauo was highly recognized for teaching excellence and a >90% pass rate for PARCC and MAP Algebra 1 assessments. In fact, he was recognized by the Wayne County School District for having the most students to perform at the “Advanced” level.

Kelly EarlsScience

Kelly is a former elementary and middle school teacher and middle school and elementary principal serving in K-2, K-6, K-8, and K-12 settings. She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in elementary education and a Specialist degree in Educational Administration. She is currently serves as a head coach, instructional specialist, leadership coach, and data coach, with Bailey Education Group working in school districts across the states of Alabama, Mississippi, and Oklahoma.

Candace GatesRacial & Cultural Diversity

Candance Gates has twelve years of experience in the middle school, high school, and college classroom. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in English Education from Mississippi State University, a Masters of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Mississippi, Doctor of Philosophy degree in Secondary Education from the University of Mississippi. Dr. Gates is currently a Senior English Language Arts Teacher/ Data Coach and Cultural Diversity Specialist with Bailey Education Group focusing on effective implementation of the content standards and Mississippi Teacher Performance Standards, as well as training teachers on the research-based strategies including those close reading, high-order questioning, and student engagement. She coaches teachers across the state using student data to drive instruction to ensure increased student growth and achievement.

Monique HendersonEnglish Learners (EL)

Monique H. Henderson has more than 20 years of experience in education, including time spent researching and writing about public education in Mississippi, Southern California and Texas. She has worked as a teacher, serving students who are English learners, homeless students and migrant students. Most recently, she served as Director of Special Populations for the Mississippi Department of Education, overseeing the state’s English Learner, neglected and delinquent and homeless initiatives. She also has provided education supports to EL and dyslexic students and has co-authored three books about education and education leadership. A Meridian, Mississippi native, she holds a doctorate in education leadership from the University of Redlands in Southern California and has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Redlands and Lone Star College in Conroe, Texas. Before going into education, she worked in journalism and public relations, as well as development.

Ann MooreSpecial Education

Ann Moore is a lifelong educator with over 40 years experience working in public education at the local, state, and national level. Ann brings a unique skill set and depth of knowledge with experience in both general education and special education. Her career began at the school level teaching a diverse range of students with disabilities in a variety of educational settings in MS, SC, and GA.  Ann’s leadership at the state level includes 30 years of administrative experience with the MS Department of Education (MDE) in a variety of supervisory and leadership positions, including serving as Bureau Director for the Office of Accreditation and Associate Superintendent for the Office of Special Education. At the national level, Ann actively participated as a member of the National Association of State Directors of Special Education (NASDSE) from 2007-2013 and served as a NASDSE board member from 2011-2013 and President-Elect in 2012-2013.

Chuck PoerData & Leadership

Chuck has over 30 years of experience as a classroom teacher, coach, and principal (K-12) and 8 years as an educational consultant. He served as principal of New Albany Elementary School where he guided his school from an achievement level “3” to an achievement level “5” over a two year period and was named Mississippi Administrator of the Year [2007] by the Mississippi Department of Education. Mr. Poer has received national recognition for his leadership skills and his extensive knowledge of professional learning, improving teacher effectiveness, student assessment, and data driven decision making.

Patrick ScogginMath K-5

Patrick is a former middle school and high school teacher. He has a Master’s degree in Secondary Education from the University of Southern Mississippi. Currently, he is a Head Coach, Instructional Coach, and Data Coach for Bailey Education Group. Patrick has extensive experience training/coaching teachers in the effective implementation of the MS College and Career Readiness Math Standards.  He has worked with schools across Mississippi, as well as Louisiana, Alabama, Oklahoma, New York, & New Jersey to support teachers with the realization of best practices in the 21st century classroom.

Jean TaborMath K-5

Jeana Tabor is a mathematics instructional coach for Bailey Education Group focusing on training, co-teaching and modeling effective implementation of Mississippi College and Career Readiness Standards and Mississippi Educator Professional Growth Standards in the elementary classroom. Prior to working with BEG, she served as Mathematics Instructional Specialist and taught fifth grade common core mathematics. As an instructional coach and classroom teacher, she developed and executed Tier 2 research-based interventions where her students demonstrated increased growth and achievement on state assessments. She has a B.S. in Elementary Education from Delta State University and over one hundred hours of training in mathematics Common Core and Mississippi College and Career Readiness standards. Mrs. Cook develops instructional units/documents/resources for BEG and currently coaches in multiple districts across the state of Mississippi. 

Tanisha WashingtonLiteracy ELA K-8

Tanisha is a former elementary and middle school English Language Arts teacher with over 17 years of experience in various areas of education. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech/Language Pathology and Elementary Education from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Masters of Arts degree in Elementary Education from William Carey University. Ms. Washington has served in the capacity of Academic Curriculum Coach, Interventionist, School Test Coordinator, LSC Chairperson, among other titles outside the scope of regular classroom educator. Ms. Washington currently serves as Head Coach, English Language Arts Specialist, and Data Specialist for Bailey Education Group, LLC. As Head Coach, Ms. Washington manages projects in school districts around the state of MS.
